The Colt M1911 used by Clint Eastwood as Walt Kowalski in Gran Torino (2008) is Lot 157 in Hanlin’s Movie and TV Memorabilia Auction on November 6 and 7, 2026. It comes from my collection.

Walt Kowalski’s Sidearm
Gran Torino is one of the great late-career Eastwood films. He directed it and played Walt Kowalski, a widowed Korean War veteran in Detroit who ends up protecting the Hmong family next door. Kowalski’s M1 Garand and his M1911 tie him to his military past, and the pistol becomes part of his stand against the gang that threatens his neighbors.
The Revised and Expanded Edition of Clint Eastwood: ICON added much more of the work Eastwood did as a director, and Gran Torino stands among the most important films of that period.

Provenance and Condition
This is a stunt M1911 made of rubber, the version used for action on set. It was previously offered in the Hollywood memorabilia auction “Hollywood: A Collector’s Ransom” in December 2019. Prop firearm rules vary by country and state, so check yours before you bid.
