Sports Team Studios
David Frangioni | For professional teams

Teams are building studios. I build the production company and the facility behind it, turnkey, as one accountable lead.
The Chiefs, Texans, Cubs, Manchester City and MLB are all building in-house production. I have spent my career on both sides of the glass: producing and delivering work for artists including Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Shakira, Sting, KISS, Elton John and Ringo Starr, and designing the studios, immersive audio rooms and systems where that work happens. Through Modern Drummer, I also run a media and archive business.
For a team, that means one person who understands the creative, the technical and the business, and who is accountable for all of it.

Proven with the Boston Red Sox
I have built for a team before.
In 2002, I led HD video and audio for the Boston Red Sox in Fenway Park’s 600 Club and the owners’ suites, finished the week before opening day. The Red Sox thanked my team on the Fenway scoreboard. In Germany, I designed the VfL Wolfsburg stadium sound system at the Volkswagen Arena with Noel Lee.
Questions Teams Ask Me
- How I keep a team studio build on budget
- What I look for first in an existing stadium space
- Why I mix in Atmos, and why team studios should too
The Team Studio Series
- Part 1: Building the production company
- Part 2: Designing the facility
- Part 3: The content engine
- Part 4: Turnkey, done once
The three ways I deliver a build are laid out in my Turnkey Studio Packages.
Players ask me about the same rooms for their homes. I wrote about how I approach that in What I Tell Athletes Who Want a Studio at Home.
