The screen-matched ejection seat from John McClane’s escape in Die Hard 2 (1990) is Lot 107 in Hanlin’s Movie and TV Memorabilia Auction on November 6 and 7, 2026. Bruce Willis’s signature McClane costume (Lot 108) and producer Joel Silver’s crew jacket (Lot 109) are in the same sale, and all three come from my collection.

Lot 107: The Ejection Seat
Every Die Hard fan knows the moment. Trapped in a cockpit as the grenades land, McClane pulls the handle and rockets out just before the plane explodes. It is one of the great escapes in action movies, and this is the screen-matched seat from that sequence.
The seat was built from sheet aluminum, cast resin, vacuum-formed plastic and rubber, finished in military green with real hardware for authenticity, and stenciled “Danger / Eject” on the sides. It measures 52.25 by 23.5 by 33 inches. That size makes it a centerpiece for a theater room or a serious collection, and special shipping arrangements apply.

Lot 108: John McClane’s Signature Costume

The distressed two-piece outfit Willis wears as McClane while he takes Dulles Airport back from mercenaries on Christmas Eve, including his crawl through the airport’s service ducts. McClane’s look is part of the character, and hero costumes from the Die Hard films are some of the most wanted pieces in action-film collecting.
Lot 109: Joel Silver’s Crew Jacket
A new, unworn Die Hard 2 crew jacket that belonged to producer Joel Silver, the force behind Die Hard, Lethal Weapon and The Matrix. The liner zips out to become a second jacket and the sleeves come off to make a vest.
